Transfer : Chelsea will trade Harry Kane for their striker for £97.5 million plus cash.

Romelu Lukaku, a £97.5 million Belgian striker, was ready to be offered by Chelsea in exchange for the 29-year-old Premier League goal machine Harry Kane.

According to Calciomercato, the Blues are putting together an audacious swap deal to get the Tottenham forward.

The England captain is greatly admired by the new Chelsea manager Graham Potter, who wants the team's owners to sign him to a contract at Stamford Bridge in the next summer.

Kane reportedly wanted to leave the club last summer, and Manchester City was reportedly interested in hiring him.

But as Spurs refused to part with their star, Erling Haaland was eventually acquired by Manchester City from Borussia Dortmund.

Despite paying a club record £97.5 million to return to Stamford Bridge last summer, Lukaku was unable to live up to expectations. In 44 games last season, he only managed to score 15 goals in all competitions.

The Nerazzurri have the option to extend Lukaku's loan to his previous team Inter Milan for an additional year.

According to the report, Chelsea may trade new acquisition Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to Spurs if the Serie A giants decide to keep the Belgian for another season.

After working for Antonio Conte at Inter Milan, where he also helped the team win the Scudetto in 2020–21, the Belgian international enjoys a close relationship with the current Spurs manager.
