On National Fitness Day, thousands of people walk beside Bawumia.

 



Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has urged Ghanaians to adopt exercise as a method to boost productivity and lower healthcare costs, especially during this difficult time.

Additionally, he has urged the populace to exercise frequently in order to pay special attention to their health.

The Vice President made this statement on Saturday morning at the Accra Sports Stadium during the inaugural National Keep Fit Day.

The activity is scheduled to occur nationwide on the second Saturday of each month.

Numerous athletes, including professional cyclists, soccer teams from several chosen second cycle schools in the Greater Accra region, the King of the Ga state, Nii Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, the Sports Minister Mustapha Yusif, and former world.

Azuma Nelson, a champion, and a few politicians joined in the walk.

When the fitness enthusiasts arrived at the Accra Sports Stadium, they were led through some aerobics while the dignitaries spoke to the attendees one at a time.

The Ga Mantse said that "the National Fitness Day has come to stay" in a quick expression of admiration.

Alhaji Haruna Abdulai, a former NPP Northern Regional Secretary and consultant for the Ghana Integrated Iron and Steel Development Corporation, praised the advocates and planners of the national fitness day.

"Keeping fit is maintaining well," said Alhaji Haruna. "As a finance professional, I know that keeping fit will cut the health budget and that alone will provide some savings to people in terms of their health expense."

On his part, Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia, who organized and proclaimed National Fitness Day, used the occasion to encourage people to exercise so that they might lower their personal medical expenses and work more productively.

"If we are healthy physically, we will also be well mentally, so we want to ensure that Ghana is healthy, and the national fitness day should help us get more fit so that we can be more productive," he stated.

In order to cap off the day, the Vice President played a game of table tennis, one of his favorite sports.
