C/R: Nursing student killed, buried in chief’s room; pastor busted, chief on the run (Photos)

A Chief and a Pastor at Mankessim in the Mfantseman Municipality in the Central Region surreptitiously killed and buried a 25-year-old Cape Coast final-year nursing student.

According to information gathered by Nana Tawiah, regional correspondent for Class News, the pastor and the Chief, who is also the President of the Mankessim Traders Association and the Tutuhene of Ekumfi Akwakrom, kidnapped the nurse and then demanded ransom from the victim's family after having sex with her.

Later, they killed her, buried her in the chief's room covertly, and sealed the floor. 

Three weeks ago, the body was laid to rest.

When the body needed to be exhumed, the police followed the priest, who had admitted to the crime, to the chief's home.

As word of the murder spread, residents voiced horror and fear and the chief is now on the run.


Cephas Arthur, an Assembly member who represents the area, urged the Inspector General of Police to increase security in Mankessim and the surrounding areas in an interview.

The assemblyman claims that Mankessim had experienced a similar situation before this year.

He requested that the Chief and Pastor be dealt with through the legal system.


The Cape Coast Teaching Hospital has received the victim's body.
