Bawumia is present during Kenyan President Ruto's inauguration.


Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Ghana's vice president, has traveled from Accra to Nairobi, Kenya to represent Ghana at the swearing-in of H.E. William Samoei Arap Ruto, Kenya's president-elect.

H.E. William Ruto held the position of Vice President of the Republic of Kenya from August 15, 2022, till his election.


On September 14th, Vice President Bawumia will visit Accra once more.

The second lady, H.E. Mrs. Samira Bawumia, the deputy minister of foreign affairs and regional integration, Hon. Thomas Mbomba, and other top government officials were with him. 

You may recall that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia earlier this month congratulated his Kenyan colleague William Samoei Ruto on being declared the country's next president.

The election of William Samoei Ruto as president was upheld by the Kenyan Supreme Court.


Candidate for the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition Raila Odinga's suit claiming that Dr. Ruto's declaration was invalid was dismissed by the Chief Justice Martha Koome-led Bench by a unanimous vote.

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia congratulated William Samoei Ruto in a Facebook message after his victory.


As he takes the reins to serve the Kenyan people, he prayed for God's wisdom.

I congratulate William Samoei Ruto, the vice president of the Republic of Kenya, on being recognized as the country's incoming president by the Supreme Court of Kenya.
