MMDCEs Should Be Elected But Not On Partisan Basis - FORMER KMA BOSS




Maxwell Kofi Jumah, a 71 year old former Mayor of Kumasi supports the proposal that the election of Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) in the country. 

Currently, presidents nominates all MMDCEs for approval by their assemblies. 

His Excellency, Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo recently emphasized on his commitment to ensuring that MMDCEs are elected along partisan lines. 

But the former Member of Parliament (MP) for Asokwa constituency in the Ashanti Region, speaking on "THE CHAMBER" on Citi TV agreed to the election of MMDCEs as practiced in some advanced countries. He pinpoint the fact that Mayors must elected by the people they are going to serve.
